Another weekend gone..

Another weekend has come and gone.. It just goes so fast doesn't it?  I sure got alot done this weekend.  So many little projects are DONE!  I even fit in a quick Goodwill run and found some neat little items.  I have been wanting some cute little chalkboard tins for a while now so I bought 2 (very ugly) tin cans at goodwill for about .75 cents each, not bad right?  Then sprayed them with chalkboard paint and then....

Soooo easy right??  And not to mention so cute! I filled them up with all my scented oils for my scentsy warmer and it was perfect.

Then also found these little plastic candle holders.  I thought they were so ugly I didn't want to get them at first.. But they were just so cheap, only $1 each that I thought I could just bring them back and donate them again if I didn't like them.  Picked up a few different colors of spray paint.  They just have SO many amazing colors now at home depot, I have alot of fun spray painting, maybe even to much... Possible?? No I don't think so.

And here they are after, I just love a wall of painted frames, they are just so fun!

These are just a few things I worked on over the weekend.

This is one of my favorite things I have ever bought.  Probably one of the most expensive also but well worth it.

Another door!  I have so many but I just don't think I could ever have enough, I have so much fun with them.  And the color, can anyone say amazing?  This is the next room I am debating on painting..  White of course, I just think the color of that door against a creamy white would be amazing.  Next project maybe?

And last but not least check out these adorable suitcases.  Aren't they so cute!  I love them stacked on top of each other like that.  I would love this next to my bed as a night stand.. But at this point my bedroom is just to small for that... Next house maybe?

The perfect wreath..

I have been searching blogs and different ideas trying to find the perfect wreath.  I bought a few smaller foam wreaths from the dollar store seeing what I could come up with..  I have made a few cute ones that I love just placing around my house but still not THE ONE for my front door..  I will be making a trip to Michael's tomorrow and see if I can find something that might spark an idea!  Here my favorite one so far, the colors are just so fun!

If your interested on how, its very easy, if I can do it believe me you can!  Like I said earlier I bought a foam wreath from the dollar store then wrapped it in burlap twice.  Next cut little circles (different sizes) from different colors of fabric and glue them in random spots through out the wreath until its covered. I just didn't think that was enough so I made (tried to anyway) little flower rosettes by cutting a long piece of fabric about 2 inches wide.  Tie a knot and the very end and dab a little fabric glue, then take the fabric around the knot and twisting as you go just adding a little glue every so often and glue those on where ever you think it needs a little extra flare!  And your done, so easy and even better so cheap!

Lots to do tomorrow!  So many projects and just not enough time.  I have found several frames that need some major paint attention.  A bedroom wall screaming to be painted white, an empty fridge awaiting a much needed Costco trip and last but not least.....  Bringing home my jelly cupboard!!  Sooooo excited, these are by far the cutest things I have ever seen, I am just so excited to get it to its new home, pictures to come as soon as its settled in.

In search of a desk..

For so long I have been on the hunt for the perfect desk.  The one I had from walmart was getting the job done but not completing my living room like I wanted.  Here is a picture of what I had..

Then one lucky day craigslist did it again!  I found the perfect desk, with a little TLC of course.  For only $30 bucks I took this baby home and gave her just what she needed.

I just loved the little knobs... So cute.  And the paint I used was an oops paint from Home depot for only $5 and I am now in love with it!

For a while now I have been wanting to make a cute little wreath for my front door, the ones to buy at the store are just outrageous and I really didn't want to spend that much.  I saw a great idea online, one I couldn't believe I hadn't ever thought of doing.  I just picked up a cheap little dollar store foam wreath and
any fabric I could find.

Just cut the fabric into little strips and tie them into little knots all the way around.  It only took me maybe
20 minutes and it was the perfect accessory for my door!  I think next week I will make one for Halloween!

Oh Saturdays...

Oh Saturdays, couldn't ask for anything better.. Yard sales in the morning with a Pumpkin Latte in hand, projects in the afternoon and then relaxing all night with the thought of no work in the morning, just hours of painting.. Doesn't that just sound amazing.

I finally finished the cabinet today and it turned out great!  That was probably one of the biggest, heaviest projects I have ever tackled!  After this piece I think its time to invest in a dolly or my back will be out by the time I hit my 30's.  Well worth it of course, at least in my eyes anyway, I don't think my husband always appreciates it when I come home with over sized items and he is expected to help me move it, or it would never leave the bed of his truck.  Which is all fine and dandy to me, I can still paint and sand it while its in there, no sweat off my back right?  Anyway here it is...

I took it down to Elm Street antiques here in Hermiston, one of my favorite stores!  It was the store that changed my whole outlook on decorating, I'm sure half of my house is from there.  Saturdays I am going to be over there and we are going to set up all sorts of great items in the yard, so if you are in town make sure to stop by and check it out, its going to be a lot of fun.

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday as well!  More pictures to come tomorrow, I have a few more projects lined up for Sunday.
